Given the continued spread of COVID-19 worldwide, KFL&A Public Health is engaged in responding to this situation. This means, we have had to make changes to some programs and services. Please subscribe to this page to receive e-mail updates when new opportunities are added.
Through the application process, if we determine KFL&A Public Health is a good match to your skills, interests and time availability, we will arrange orientation and training.
If you meet the criteria, your next steps will be:
Interview |
Attend an in-person interview with KFL&A Public Health volunteer resources and program staff. |
References |
This provides third party input on an applicant’s character background, work or volunteer experience and as part of the intake process. It helps to determine the suitability of an applicant. Please provide the names and contact information of two references. We ask that references not be family members. |
Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Search |
These are position dependent and can be obtained through the municipality you live in. If you recently completed a criminal reference check for work elsewhere, a certified copy will be accepted, provided it is received within one year of the original submission date. |
Immunization Screening |
KFL&A Public Health’s immunization policy requires all employees, volunteers, and students to provide proof of specific immunization. This documentation must be provided prior to starting to volunteer. Specific requirements will be provided during the selection process. |
Orientation |
Once you have completed the above steps, you will receive information about KFL&A Public Health where you will learn about our polices and procedures, including information about safety, routine practices, confidentiality, and privacy. |
Training |
Some program areas require volunteers to take part in specific training. The time involved will be communicated to potential volunteers during the interview process. |
KFL&A Public Health volunteers are an important part of a dedicated team working towards better health. We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the application process.
Applications are kept on file in Volunteer Resources for a period of six months.
We thank you for your interest in our volunteer programs.
