If detected early, colorectal cancer has a 90% chance of being cured.
There are two types of screening tests for colorectal cancer, a Fecal Occult Blood Test and a colonoscopy.
The Fecal Occult Blood Test (FOBT) is done at home. The results will show if there is blood in the stool. If there is blood in the stool further testing will need to be done.

A colonoscopy is an examination by a health care provider that looks at the inner lining of the colon and rectum. To learn more about who needs a colonoscopy, visit the Cancer Care Ontario website.
