Breastmilk is the only food your baby needs for the first 6 months. You may continue to breastfeed for 2 years or longer, with the addition of solid foods.
KFL&A Public Health is committed to supporting you as you learn to feed your baby.
If you are an expecting or a new parent, learn more about breastfeeding from Breastfeeding Matters or My Breastfeeding Guide. Both are available in various languages.
If you need information or support with infant feeding, call the Parenting in KFL&A phone line at 613-549-1154 or 1-800-267-7875, ext. 1555, or Health811 (dial 811)
More information, advice, and resources are available in the Getting Help section.
