Southeast Public Health is a public health agency with over 500 staff and volunteers who deliver public health programs and services to the people of the South East region. There is an immediate opening for an Occupational Health Nurse within the Human Resources team, working out of the Kingston office. The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for providing core on-site occupational health and safety services to maintain, promote and restore health, safety and well-being in the workplace. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and be registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario. They will bring a Certificate or Diploma in Occupational Health and/or COHN(c), along with a minimum of three years of occupational health and safety experience, including preferred experience conducting ergonomic assessments. Experience in a unionized environment, public health, disability management, and the administration of immunizations and TB testing is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of Occupational Health and privacy legislation (OHSA, WSIA), proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to meet the physical demands of the role while maintaining regular, consistent attendance. Willingness and ability to travel between sites is required. Certification as a Respirator Fit Tester and knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) are considered assets. Volunteer opportunities
Volunteer opportunities vary by time of year and type of event. We offer volunteers a range of opportunities in the following areas:
- General support volunteers assist with various health promotion and health protection special events and projects. Volunteers may assist agency teams with internal requests and odd jobs, such as replenishing supplies, putting together resources packages, providing activity support or monitoring the safety of event participants.
KFL&A Public Health volunteers are an important part of a dedicated team working towards better health. We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities. Accommodations are available upon request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the application process.
