KFL&A Public Health provides public health programs to more than 209,000 people living in our community. Our main office is located in Kingston, with staff members and volunteers also working out of branch offices in Napanee, Cloyne, and Sharbot Lake.

Certified Dental Assistant - part-time (0.5 FTE) |
$45,000 to $54,272 KFL&A Public Health is a local public health agency with over 200 staff and 150 volunteers who deliver public health programs and services to the people of the KFL&A area. There is an immediate opening for a Certified Dental Assistant within the Dental Health team. The Certified Dental Assistant, under the direction of the Program Manager, is responsible for providing oral health programs and services in accordance with the Ontario Public Health Standards, related protocols, and local program needs. The ideal candidate will have a Dental Assistant Level II certificate from a recognized school, be a certified member in good standing with the Ontario Dental Assistants Association (ODAA) and have one year of experience as a dental assistant. Previous experience in public health dentistry or teaching setting is preferred. French language is an asset, and a satisfactory police record check is required. Program assistant, part-time term (0.5 FTE, 9 months) |
KFL&A Public Health is a local public health agency with over 200 staff and 150 volunteers who deliver public health programs and services to the people of the KFL&A area. There is an immediate opening for a Program Assistant within the Dental Health team. The Program Assistant provides assistance and support to at least one team, division, director, manager or supervisor and acts as a central point of access, an advocate and an ambassador to the program(s) and organization through the provision of quality customer service and support in accordance with KFL&A Public Health’s policies, procedures and values. The successful candidate will have an Office Administration certificate from a recognized school or equivalent combination of education and experience and a minimum of 2 years general office experience. Minimum keyboarding speed of 40 words per minute with 95% accuracy, minimum data entry speed of 175 keystrokes per minute with 95% accuracy and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Level 2, Excel Level 1) is required. A satisfactory police record check is also required. Volunteer opportunities vary by time of year and type of event. We offer volunteers a range of opportunities in the following areas:
- Clinic support volunteers provide assistance and support to the clinics.
- General support volunteers assist with various health promotion and health protection special events and projects. Volunteers may assist agency teams with internal requests and odd jobs, such as replenishing supplies, putting together resources packages, providing activity support or monitoring the safety of event participants.
