Adult measles immunization clinics

DO NOT BOOK AN APPOINTMENT

If you or a family member has recently been sick with symptoms of measles (cough, fever, red eyes, red rash), do not book an immunization clinic appointment. Call KFL&A Public Health at 613-549-1232, ext. 5002 for guidance.

Who can book?

You can book an appointment at one of our measles vaccination clinics if you are:

  • Adults 18 to 55 years of age (those born before 1970 are considered to have natural immunity) and:
    • do not have access to primary care
    • have not received two doses of measles vaccine
    • have not had a live vaccine (varicella, MMR) in the last four weeks
    • are not pregnant
    • are not immunocompromised
  • 18 years of age and older and:
    • are a health care worker, an early childhood educator or work in a school setting and do not have two doses of a measles-containing vaccine or laboratory evidence of immunity

Those who have received blood products in the last year will be counselled at their appointment.

Please submit your vaccination records before your appointment at KFL&A Public Health.

Book a measles vaccine appointment for children under 18 years of age

To receive measles vaccine for children under 18 years of age, please book at one of our routine immunization clinics. The child may be eligible for additional publicly funded vaccines.

Visit our routine immunization clinics page

The measles immunization clinic provides publicly funded (free) vaccines according to Ontario’s Routine Immunization Schedule.

KFL&A Public Health does not provide non-publicly funded (paid) vaccines. Learn more about where to get vaccines needed for work or travel.

Individuals seeking vaccination for travel at a travel clinic or primary care provider may incur a cost associated with their visit.
