KFL&A Public Health confirmed a community based COVID-19 Assessment Centre is now open at Hotel Dieu Hospital (HDH) site of Kingston Health Sciences Centre. The COVID-19 Assessment Centre is set up to assess returning travellers, as well as community residents, who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.

“The COVID-19 Assessment Centre at HDH will enhance appropriate triaging efforts in our communities and prevent the existing primary and acute care systems from being overwhelmed,” said Dr. Kieran Moore, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health. “We are especially pleased to have this operational before the potential increase in returning travellers following the school March break holiday.”

Located at HDH, the COVID-19 Assessment Centre will operate 7 days a week between the hours of 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Patients will enter HDH by a separate, well-marked entrance directly across from the Chown Memorial Parking Garage. Large signage will direct people to the correct door, which is just west of the main entrance.

LOCATION:         Hotel Dieu Hospital - A separate, well-marked entrance directly across from the Chown Memorial Parking Garage.

HOURS of OPERATION:                 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

7 days a week (Monday through Sunday)

Depending on the spread of the infection in the community, additional COVID-19 Assessment Centre locations and expanded hours of operation will occur to meet the assessment needs in our community.

KFL&A Public Health plans to expand operational hours as needed.
