Today, Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health confirms a COVID-19 positive case travelled on Kingston Transit bus routes.
  • Saturday, November 6, 2021: Route 16 departing the Kingston Centre transfer point at 12:30 p.m. until arriving at Concession St/Kingscourt Ave. at 12:35 p.m.
  • Tuesday, November 9, 2021: Route 1 departing downtown transfer point at 7:50 a.m. until arriving at Division St./First Canada Ave. at 8:10 a.m.
KFL&A Public Health is unable to identify all riders on these routes and is issuing a public notice to assist with contact tracing.

If you were on one of the routes listed above, KFL&A Public Health recommends you:
  • Get tested for COVID-19 immediately if you were travelling on Route 16 on November 6.
  • Get tested for COVID-19 immediately if you were travelling on Route 1 on November 9 and get tested again on November 18.
  • Monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 for 10 days after the date of your last exposure (Route 16: November 16 or Route 1: November 19).
    • If symptoms develop, self-isolate from others immediately and arrange for testing at the COVID-19 Community Assessment Centre.

If you are not fully vaccinated (more 14 days from receiving your second dose of COVID-19 vaccine) and travelled on the routes and times listed, we recommend that you isolate at home and call KFL&A Public Health for further direction.

If you are fully vaccinated, no isolation is required.

Kingston Transit continues to adhere to all public health measures and are committed to protecting the health and safety of passengers and staff.
