KFL&A Public Health, in partnership with the City of Kingston and the Limestone District School Board, is offering a free, safe and social indoor walking program for people of all ages to increase their physical activity.

Physical activity levels tend to decline in the winter months due to the challenges of poor weather conditions, extreme cold, slippery surfaces, and narrow sidewalks due to the accumulation of snow. Walk On is a free, indoor walking program led by volunteers and is offered at six different locations in KFL&A. There is no registration required.

Walks will be held at the following locations from November until the last week of March:

  • Memorial Centre, Kingston
    • Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m.
  • INVISTA Centre, Kingston
    • Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 to 10 a.m.
  • Perth Road Public School, Perth Road Village
    • Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Napanee District S.S., Napanee
    • Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • LaSalle Secondary School, Kingston
    • Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Rideau Heights Community Centre
    • Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m., and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

The Walk On schedule is also available on KFL&A Public Health’s website at www.kflaph.ca/WalkOn. If you have questions about Walk On, call 613-549-1232, ext. 1180.
