Increased Risk for COVID-19 in KFL&A Region

Kingston— As of Monday, April 12, KFL&A Public Health is monitoring 135 active cases of COVID-19, as well as over 580 high-risk contacts in the community. Our local data indicates that COVID-19 cases are at the highest levels to date, confirming the upward surge of the variants of this virus in our community with an incidence rate of 54.9 per 100,000 (red-protect level) and 1.56 % positivity (orange-restrict level).

Kingston, ON – Today, Dr. Kieran Moore, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak among young adults aged 18 to 29 years of age, as they currently make up over 70 per cent of the active cases in our region. In this age group in the City of Kingston’s University District there are 70 active cases of COVID-19.

Kingston – Today, Dr. Kieran Moore, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health confirms a COVID-19 positive case at Walmart Supercentre, 1130 Midland Ave., Kingston. KFL&A Public Health is unable to contact all customers who may have been exposed.

Customers who were shopping in Walmart Supercentre on April 3, between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. may be affected and are recommended to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

Kingston – Today, Dr. Kieran Moore, Medical Officer of Health at KFL&A Public Health confirms a COVID-19 positive case at Tango Nuevo Restaurant at 331 King St. Kingston. 

KFL&A Public Health recommends that individuals who attended Tango Nuevo Restaurant on Friday, April 2, 2021 between 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to self-isolate regardless of symptoms. KFL&A Public Health will provide outreach over the next few days by phone or text.
