The sooner that a person is immunized against influenza, the sooner they are protected from this contagious and potentially dangerous illness.  It is also important to get immunized to protect vulnerable people such as the elderly and those who are too young to be immunized.  KFL&A Public Health recommends that all KFL&A area residents, not just the young and the elderly, get immunized as soon as the vaccine becomes available.

Kingston—KFL&A Public Health’s Medical Officer of Health has reissued the Class Order under Section 22 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act. Effective immediately, the amendments revise and clarify self-isolation requirements and the legal obligations of those who are cases of COVID-19.

Top Marks for Immunization Coverage for Students in KFL&A

Kingston, ON —Students in the KFL&A area earn top marks for the 2018 to 2019 school year in Public Health Ontario’s Immunization Coverage Report for School Pupils.  Over ninety-five (95.4) percent of eligible 7-year olds in KFL&A were up to date with all immunizations required for school attendance.
