KINGSTON – Climate change is causing more extreme weather events such as heavy rains, flooding and prolonged heat waves. KINGSTON – According to community acquired data, local authorities strongly believe carfentanil is circulating the KFL&A area.
Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid not intended for human use, that is similar to fentanyl, but is 100 times more lethal. Depending on the purity of the drug, carfentanil can be more toxic than fentanyl, and 100 times more toxic than morphine. This means carfentanil can be deadly in extremely small amounts.

KFL&A Public Health Releases the Cost of Eating Healthy Report

Kingston - KFL&A Public Health has released the 2018 Cost of Eating Healthy Report. Based on the local results of the Nutritious Food Basket annual survey, the cost to eat healthy in 2018 for a family of four (two adults, two children), is approximately $874 per month. Although a decrease of $14 from the 2017 report, the results strongly demonstrate how vulnerable populations with a fixed or low income have difficulty affording healthy food after accounting for rent and other basic expenses.
