If you own or work for a business in the City of Kingston, Frontenac county, or Lennox & Addington county, find out about public health regulations and guidelines that affect your business.

Food premises

Food service premises means any food premise where meals or meal portions are prepared for immediate consumption or sold or service in a form that will permit immediate consumption on the premises or elsewhere. O. Reg. 493 1. (1)

Food premises that must be inspected include:

  • Restaurants
  • Take-out food premises
  • Food trucks

Personal service settings

A personal service setting is a premises at which personal services are offered where there is a risk of exposure to blood or body fluids. R.S.O. 1990, CHAPTER H.7 1. (1)

Personal service settings that must be inspected include businesses that perform:

  • Manicures
  • Pedicures
  • Tattooing
  • Hair styling
  • Piercing

Recreational water facilities

Recreation water facilities that must be inspected include locations with:

  • Public pools
  • Public spas
  • Splash pads

Small drinking water systems

Small drinking water systems are businesses or premises that supply their own water, typically through a private well or cistern, and allow the public access to the water.

This may include:

  • Restaurants
  • Seasonal trailer parks or campgrounds
  • Hotels or motels
  • Public washrooms
  • Places of worship
  • Recreational facilities
