Mandatory Blood Testing Act

The Mandatory Blood Testing Act, 2006 (MBTA), allows eligible individuals that have come into contact with blood or body fluids of another person, to have the blood of that person tested. For more information or to see if you are eligible please visit the Government of Ontario website.
The MBTA covers the following infectious diseases only:
- Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
If you think you have been exposed to the bodily fluids of another person who may have one of the infectious diseases covered by the act, you should immediately contact a medical professional who can help assess the risk of infection and discuss care and treatment options.
If you are eligible under the Mandatory Blood Testing Act, inform your healthcare provider that you wish to apply and request that they complete the Physician/Nurse Practitioner Form. You must also complete the Applicant Report Form and submit both forms to SEHU (formerly KFL&A PH) within 30 days of the exposure using:
